Title: Kiss Price Check
Post by: spacejam0 on June 23, 2017, 06:33:06 PM
Hi Guys
I've asked before and I'll probably ask again, and I know it's hard to tell from a few pictures but I've been after a nice Kiss for ages now and any educated price estimates on this one would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Tim

so what's he saying he wants more than what he paid for 10 years ago. Maybe swap him a Stern KISS LE and cash (sorry Nino I couldn't help it)

MMmmm.. no asking price, just a bought 10 years ago price.

Means nothing of course to a buyer but would appear to be important to the seller.

Its worth what you are prepared to pay for it.. no more, no less.

Do I think its value has increased in the 10 years?...NOPE
Do I think $7K was too much 10 years ago?.. YEP

Price depends on a number of factors. There are some Bally KISS games that have overlays installed and some that have IPB repros and of course originals. $7,000 would have been the asking price 10 years ago - easily. These days - higher. All depends on the quality of the restoration.

Is there any way to check by looking if it is an overlay and are overlays ok or should they be avoided ?

I think collectors avoid overlay games like the plague. Why, apart from they may not look right re: colours/graphics problems, I dunno. Some say they play slower too. I haven't come across one to play but have seen some shocking overlays. One had pinkish wood look, it was a centaur, not nice to look at.

The overlays ive seen have a different font around the centre playfield inserts. They used a generic font from the dropdown list on their computer instead of drawing it out..

..tut tut tut...
