Giday
Mini playfield faulty only in gameplay not in diagnostic mode. Have cleaned optics. Made a slight improvement. So question is...where in Aussie land can i purchase the left and right flipper "U" optos besides Pinball spare parts which are out of stock?
Cheers

If it works consistently in test its likely not the optos. Is the set screw tight on the shaft that rotates the mini pf? If its loose or off centre it will cause issues

Mmm will check that.

Set screw is tight, slight bit of play when moving mini play field by hand. I guess that's normal wear and tear! The issue is the tilt to the left only. It stutters and is not a smooth action. Have cleaned all optos. Any other handy hints?? I'm still thinking maybe left flipper opto....

If it works fine in test then most likely its the flipper opto, if its just left tilt then swap the opto's from left to right and see if the fault follows..
Test mode works because you use the test switches to run the motor....In game you use the flipper buttons..

Originally gonna do that however the left flipper opto is different from the right.

How?
pics?

Refering to manual and pics looks like the left one is original and right one is not.

Black plastic interrupter is original

It shouldn't matter that they are different.
Have you checked them in the switch test?
You should see two switches switching for each flipper button, if not maybe that is your problem.
You may have a faulty opto on the board in that case
Looks like there are two different optos on the L/H flipper switch

Tested good. Still leaning towards optos. Thoughts?

It does not matter that they are different, the connector will be the same. Swap the boards around and if the opto is causing the trouble and most likely it is, the fault will move with the board. I really doubt it will be anything else especially if in test it works fine..
