l have to say this was the most fun you could have.... walking around a pinball factory the tour went about 40 min and were really well run and all the processes
were explained.
Gary Stern was there and walked past and stopped and talked to a few people
it was interesting to see a machine getting put to gether in different stages
right up to the boxing section
if you ever get the chance..... its worth the ticket
-
Thanks Greg, appreciate the pics. Must have been a blast going through the Stern factory. So jealous of you guys at the moment #.#
-
Tony
it was a great tour
l would hate to be the new kid on the block and start trying to make
games from scratch
-
Thanks for the pics, and the solid evidence that you guys were actually there! Glad you all seemed to have such fun. Might have to think about doing the trip one of these days...
-
Great pics greg and thanks for sharing, didnt expect to see any till you got back. ^^^
-
Great pictures, Greg - thanks for taking the time to post them ^^^
Amazing how Gary Stern opens his factory to the pinball public to simply walk around and take pictures. No secrecy here #*#
Each time I see the pictures of the factory, the more I envy you guys who took the time and spent the $$$ to go over there..
What's the bet Mark uses the mug shot of himself as his new avatar ?

I think you can count on that!!
Yeah, thanks for making me even more jealous Greg!
-
Great pics Greg! Must be awesome seeing all those new pins being manufactured
-
they had DK on the line when we were there but it also looked like they were gearing up for another run of Family guy its great when you look down the line and see so many new DK games being put together
-
guys as Greg said I wouldnt want to start from nothing unless you had billions cause you will need millions to buy everything new and then top pay for everthing up front and really you wouldnt make much profit for first few years and then still be paying off the equipment.
this tour was such a buzz I still high.
i have a few pictures too but as I at home the conector is at work I will load them soon.
have a few with Gary too and Pat
gee it was good
they showed us from start to finish from the wire to doing the playfield
we counted 6 different NIB pinballs
the whole process was just unbelievable
35 days pins at day at the moment and upto 70 - 80 when in full run
wife jsut tlls me she can load my pictures so they will be up soon
and yes thanks greg have new picture
mark

Any CSI's on the line? &&
no mate
they won't gear that up until they finish the DK run
-
I thought "24" was next ?
According to Jack at pinballsales...
-
Apparently 'CSI' before end of year, then '24' next year, but I'm sure Greg may be able to confirm
-
Thanks for the pix Greg, looked like a buzz. We have to get together and discuss your strategy to getting out of the family biz for that length of time so I can try the same next time. Also the phone number of your hair dresser LOL. Nice to see you're on this site as well.

shuffled mate
most everything was been assembled by hand
from the harnesses thru to the end the only real automation was the dimpling press
and the two guys putting the finished game into a box (by hand, but at lest they moved)
and if you have beer at the end of the CI factory tour....then I'm there
