Hey Guys,
I'm just about ready to paint my WH20 inside and out using a spray gun, but I need a couple of pointers.
- What paint should I use in the spray gun?
- Should I use a matte, or a semi-gloss?
- When I get the paint matched, how much should I get, 1Lt, 2Lt, 4Lt?
I plan on undercoating with white, then spraying the head blue, and the inside of the cabinet black, but am I better off spraying the outside of the cabinet black, or blue? When I removed all the cabinet decals there was no undercoat, just plain wood - obviously this was to save on costs?
Cheers,
Andy

I use automotive acrylics mixed at a professional paint store. For Black you will need to match the finish rather than the color. If it is a semi gloss, then buy semi gloss. Flat Black - buy a flat black. The amount of paint should be no more than a 500ml for the inside of the cabinet. You are mixing 40 paint and 60 thinners, so that's a litre just for the inside of the head and body = plenty.
For the cabinet, I use a litre of primer/filler per cabinet. Around a 1.5 litre base color. If you are having the exact color matched, it works out better to buy more paint.
