This is a project machine I picked up about 12 months ago that I hadn't really planned on starting until after I'd finished the Kings of Steel machine I've been working on. Anyway It's had a little holdup with cabinet decals so I've started on this one.
I wanted to see what's working and what's not so I've started with the bottom power panel in the cabinet.

Everything is over fused with strips of wire either twitched around or soldered to the fuses.

Wiring is also scary.

First section done.

Looks like a great start.
Why wrap pissy wire around the fuse, just cut up 3" nails and never worry about a blown fuse again.
-
Nice work, looks brand new ^^^
Gotta love the old solder the wire across the fuse trick %.%
-
Shinier than new!! Very neat!
-
Thanks guys. Unfortunately I didn't have any nails hanging around so had to use fuses instead. @.@

after seeing the first pix I was gonna donate a fire extinguisher to you, but you've done a fine job there

That looks excellent, very nice work :)

So it’s been awhile but with Kings of Steel done I’m back chipping away at this one. I didn’t take many picks of this game before I started working on it but here’s a few I found.

Obviously at some stage someone’s had a crack at the cabinet with a can and a brush.

Cabinets now cleared out and you can see some of the original paint colour behind where parts have been removed.

Awesome job by Hot Rodded Pins painting the cabinet and I’ve started reassembling the machine.

I cut a new light board panel and used painted pvc pipe for the light shrouds just like the Hulk one I did a while back.
New Boston Pinball displays too.

Thanks mate, I’m starting a bit of a Reno on my workshop at home very soon so I’m trying to get as much done as possible before I have to pack it up For a while. I’ve started on a few playfield assemblies but this is pretty much where i’m upto At the moment.

Where did you get a new cab from and who does the painting? I can’t believe how new you make everything look. Are they all bits you remade, or just clean up well, or a combo of both?

Absolutely brilliant work there Adam. The cabinet really "pops". This is going to be an awesome game when done !

Awesome job Adam!! After cleaning up the JP cab recently (and just finishing of a WPC redecalling) you come to appreciate the advantages of a new cabinet. Very underrated System 1 game, I chased one for a while ages ago.

Hi Mate,
Cabinet painting was by Tim and Stuart at Hot Rodded Pins in Geelong. I had the cabinet made by a local joiner and I made the backbox light panel. Some of the other parts are new but most are cleaned up and the metal parts are replated.

Thanks Nino, it’s a game I really enjoy and I enjoy working on it as well but i’m really looking forward to getting it playing again.

Yep, Nice clean lines and a strong build, it just takes a bit longer to fit everything back off. I find myself triple checking and then checking again before fitting brackets and the like off. Well worth it though.

Awesome job, looks great ^^^
