Perpetual Freeride Getaway
« on: June 18, 2011, 12:20:30 PM »
Hi Guys,

anyone else ever had a perpetual freeride on the Getaway?

I think ive narrowed it down to when its in Multiball mode and 4 players ,

and all 3 balls are drained quickly in the inital 8 seconds or so when freeride flashing,

the Freeride goes out as it should but will forever return the ball till turned off and reset!

Its only ever done it to me once but seems to happen a lot when I have friends kids playing the machine for long periods.

anyone?

Software revision is L2 maybe I will have to go back to L5?

Happened to me once, eventually it just stopped.

I think the circumstances were a multiball where the ball stopper did not return fast enough and let all three balls onto the right flipper simultaneously, and possibly the early three-ball drain. I can't remember what ROM I am using, though.

Yeah tried to recreate it with the glass off but no joy,

I have previously repaired the multiball shute ballpost with the flipper bushing support mod and new sleeve etc,

it works flawlessly now dispensing one ball at a time ,

so even letting all 3 drain it pretty well returns 3 balls twice then ball over..

Possibly it only happens when a random Multiball is awarded from the burn rubber hole?

That rings a bell - I think if there was a ball lock already in place plus the random multiball it could cause some confusion, especially if it can't find the third ball because the post has let two balls through.

Haven't checked, but think I am on L2 and pretty sure I have got an extra ball from video mode on a number of occasions - and have had the endless multiball bug happen twice from memory.

I have L5 and have never seen the EB in video mode, I have it set to factory setting though, maybe it is an option, or if you extend the length of the video mode in the settings???

Ktm I have seen EB come up in video mode in both L2 and L5,

generally on the Right side when I am normally scooting down the left in fifth....

I run mine in factory defaults which is Medium across the board I think....

Oops, I have never seen Extra Ball in video mode, I was thinking of Burn Rubber.
