sorry for not many photos. I kind of always get too excited and involved and the next thing I find I've finished. There was lots of touch-ups required and the wear was to the wood.

The horse shoe area was bad, but there would have been over 50 areas requiring varying degrees of touch-ups. Because of the nature of the fine work required and the detail of artwork on this pf, I chose to do it all by hand and various fine brushes. I wanted to remove the Mylar and clear coat the of but the artwork was too fragile and I didn't want to add to my work. The Mylar is more than acceptable as far as condition goes.

I mentioned on another thread that my work is not perfect if you take a magnifying glass or drag your nose on the pf. But from a foot away or from the playing position, you can't notice the work. I don't even notice and I know where it is. I used enamels, fine brushes with varying number of hairs/bristles, mainly pointed on shape. Matching colours wasn't an exact science in this attempt, close was fine seeing how busy this pf is, your eyes don't focus on the finer details. The photo shows what I mean. After buffing some of the shine off and adding the black lines, it isn't noticeable.

Here are some final shots.
I just lost my job so I didn't do everything I wanted like replace all light holders etc. I bought some to see if they were correct but now holding off on expenditure so reused some of the holders.
So what was done:
Pf clean, touch-ups, new bumper caps, bumper mechs both passive and thumper bumpers, new plastics, new targets, new small flippers bats, rubbers, white targets, some new metal posts, cleaned plastic posts, cleaned/sanded larger flipper bats to get the whiter, some Leds thrown here and there, flipper rebuild for lower mechs, cleaned all metal parts and a pf swap, repainted black timber rails. I think that's it?

Last photos I promise. The game plays great, in fact, a little easy seeing the flippers seem to have more power. Game play feels more frantic as well, thanks to the bumpers being more responsive and new rubbers. I do need to adjust the slings to make them more sensitive. The captive ball shot used to be difficult. A lot of shots wouldn't make the target. Now the captive ball slams the target. Speaking of targets, the drops work heaps better, and drop when hit and not 80% or the time as Ballys do.
All round a fun game to play. I don't recall plying a Spacies as good as this, even those during my uni days in the early 1980's
things planned to do is paint and re-decal the apron, and maybe do the cabinet. Forgot to mention, had the legs re powder coated too

That looks really good. Well done. I remember this game back in the day and really liked it. Would be a hoot to play again.

Looks great Rob. I really regret selling mine, but my eldest was too young and it game him (and the missus) nightmares !
It might be a widebody, but it is awesome fun and ties in well with the Video game.

Thanks guys, started removing the full Pf Mylar on the other Pf. Hmmm bigger job than what thought. 2.5 hours and only about 15% done. Then there's heaps of touch up painting, but might clear this one first, dunno yet.
This time I'll take more photos using my iPad instead of the surface. The photo res on it is quite poor
