Title: Williams Flash Problem
Post by: bossninja17 on December 27, 2011, 10:43:24 PM
I got a Flash cheap but just about all the boards needed work. Ken did a great job having to replace heaps of components and fixing drop targets. It worked perfectly until ...
- I replaced all the rubbers
- On the side bank of five drop targets, I had to replace a spring on one of them.
Problem now is when the top drop target on the side bank goes down and the one next to it, the targets reset and "flash" goes off. When the drop targets in the middle set of three go down, it scores a credit the goes into "game over". Other problem is the contacts behind the long rubber (between bumper and kickout hole) - when contacted, set off the tilt and then game over.
I looked for crossed wires near where I worked on the drop target but could not see anything.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Any ideas how to solve?
Otherwise, will be a trip back to Ken.

Check the wiring on the drop targets. Make sure the diodes are not shorting out against any of the terminals mounted on the drop target switch assemblies. Should be something simple.
