Title: Williams Flash
Post by: pinfrog on January 27, 2016, 01:41:39 PM
Hi to all, I have just turned on my Flash and noticed the bottom line of displays 1, 2 and the credit display are not working. Any ideas what could be the problem? I am a bit of a noob in the electronic side of things . Thanks in advance .  Cheers Les.

Before anything turn off the power & remove & carefully reseat the PCB plugs.  Then power on, report back what happened.

Can you post a pix of the display so we can see the fault please.

A mate suggests you check R4 (Resistor #4) on the master display board. Its most probably a charcoal blob.

yeah I had a similar issue with my Flash display and it turned out to be a resistor on the master display I can't remember which one but it was easy to spot because you could see it was burnt

The Resistors are 10K.  Check resistance or R1 to R14 with MM , should read 10K  give or take 10%
If they need replacing use a 1/2 watt instead of the original 1/4 watt.
Failing that it may be a Chip on the master board .
