Not sure replaced receiver side but still does not register. Is it possible to put them on the wrong way??

Also everytime I tap the playfield it seems switches go on an off, more importantly ball opto 4 opens and shuts according to switch test.

It is possible to put them the wrong way but if so it will not work at all. Sounds like a bad connection somewhere in the looms. Can you determine which switches are triggering when you tap the field?

I will have a close look to see. I still can't understand how this one would go on and off when I tap the playfield.

So opto 4 is working intermittently and triggering when the playfield is tapped?

Sounds like a bad join somewhere. Check the header pin solder joints on the trough opto receiver circuit board for any cracks.
