Title: Firepower touchups...
Post by: ROLLERBALL on April 27, 2009, 09:32:02 PM
Ok well Im happy with the touchup Ive done on the flipper wear....
And the bigger area infront of the sling has been filled level with some filler...Im going to have a go at doing the water decal idea on that one...

AFTER......Lucky for me a 2yr old could copy the artwork on the planet

But this one with the shading will be harder to hide...

Paul - Have you ensured the flipper bushing is the right one ? Make sure the flipper cannot drag any longer and ruin your good work.

Normally I think polish is enough to keep that PF good, but FP gets so much lower PF wear. Thinking about mylar? Nice painting, and hardly noticeable I reckon Paul.

Ok well used the water injet decals to touchup the playfield today...average result...but with some tweeking could get it heaps better..they are SUPER thin...but not sure how they will last so I will leave these ones in place to see how they wear for a while..

before shot...

AFTER shot...

4x before shot...

4x AFTER shot

The planet on the Firepower is a bugger to touchup...the 4x area looks heaps better and the other patch while not perfect is still better than bare wood...

Looking a lot better than before Paul .  ^^^ Very interesting to see how this turned out , and as you say, how it will wear.

I am very lucky my Firepower PF doesn't need any touchups , but at least your machine is working . !!!

Ive got the decals saved on my pc to print out...so just need to change the colour and brightness ect to get it better...but as i say will see how it wears before redoing them first....and yeah still looks better...would be no way to touch it up by hand...all the tiny dots ect..
