Title: New forum feature
Post by: Creech on December 08, 2010, 07:17:30 PM
Hi folks, I have installed a new feature on the forum to allow members to leave feedback and comments for each other after completing a sale or trade. It is similar to what we all do on eBay.

To leave feedback for someone, go to their profile and click on the link called "Submit feedback for XXXXXX" under the section titled "SMF Trader System".

You can view a members feedback history by clicking on the "Trade Count" link that appears in their post profile in topics or by visiting their profile directly by clicking on their username.

This is all with a view to improving the trading experience between members and to allow members to make an informed decision prior to entering into a transaction with a member.

Enjoy!

Useful or contentious slander ridden minefield?  Time will tell, I hope it works.

exactly! Fleabay feedback is the biggest crock of shit ever! Even more so under the new rules where a seller is not able to leave a negative or neutral for a buyer - complete bullshit and now worth exactly ZILTCH!

It is slightly different to ebay because ebay feedback is both ways.
Perhaps it shld only be positive comments to save world war 3 which has occurred in the past when members have purchased machines from each other and left something other than a positive comment on a post.

Perhaps the mods could conduct a vote with that consensus style post you guys use well from time to time and gauge the forum members majority decisions ?  !@#

The trade count hasnt got off the ground yet and seems to be a hot potato already. I think the positive feedback is helpful to the forum, perhaps the neg one will only hurt. Its up to the Mods to best decide.

If you are buying a machine, try to see it in person first! If that option is not available to you, get someone you trust to view it for you.

If people have problems with a sale or trade, they definitely should try to work it out first, but in the end negative feedback is as useful as positive feedback, and sometimes more so.

The tone of the site means that , unless you can back up your claims, contentious or slanderous statements would not be tolerated

I think it is a great idea -especially for Newbies. They can see that trading between members is a positive experience.

Have faith in the system - eBay comprises a window to the world, our system is only for members.

Feel free to retrospectively add feedback if you wish.
