was it hard to update the ROM?

No mate, just took a couple of steps- you need to take a photo of the info screen (accessed by pressing the right button on the board) and email them, then they email back the product code you need.

Download the new rom to a USB, add the new product code and done. Took me ten minutes I guess.

If the display has a sticker with "sigma" on the back of it then its just a matter of downloading the update but if it has the name of the machine on the sticker then you will have to do what nick said ( take a photo of the of the product code and email it to the suppliers)
One you have done this once ( taken a photo and so on)if you want to update it again or change it to use In another machine you just have to down load the new code and up date the code in the display

About $60 but the dollar has dropped somewhat since I have ordered one a few months ago so might be slightly more now.

Take your pick of ordering direct from colordmd, bay area amusements or planetary pinball and see which one has the best shipping options.

They look great in the flesh. Dots that size maintain the "feel" of the old DMD but bring new life to the animations.

I have one in a couple of games and they are my favorite mod.

I absolutely love the ColorDMDs. They breath new life into the visuals. If you go for LEDs etc, than it is a good (but expensive) addition.
