Played a couple games for the first time yesterday.

First impression - Buries AC/DC.

Note to stern - REAL artwork looks cool. No more photoshopped games. Hire Dirty Donny as your artist for ALL games.. Seriously - the art package is awesome.

Pro or LE? I hear that Metallica pro is a better player than ACDC but not so with the LEs. Peter, what's your thought?

I played the pro at AMD the first week it arrived and gave it a thumbs up (apart from the spongy drop targets) but I have not played the LE.

Artwork definitely better on Metallica but I can't see too many BIBLE or LTBRLEs up for sale as a result. I think most collectors will keep both titles for a long time.

Yeah My BIBLE isn't going anywhere ^^^ I still believe ACDC is a players game meaning its a game that requires thought and planning on what to shoot for and when to shoot, its a real challenge and the pay off is fantastic and very rewarding. Metallica is old school shoot in order and hit the flashing lights I know there's more to it than that but that's nice for a change also and yep the artwork is great thank god Stern sold so many acdc machines to fund the real artwork for Metallica. AMD are still selling loads of ACDC's which 12 months down the track is great for pinball and Stern.

ACDC = players game
Metallica = easy to understand great as a sited machine.

For me ACDC wins

Peter

I agree Pete - I actually reckon Metallica has been a roaring success partly to the ( also great ) success of the ACDC machine......I think ACDC sales numbers gave them a real 'roll on' to create another music pinball and thank god they created a machine that 99% of people are really liking , in all it's versions and for loads of reasons.

I am sure they would be thinking to create even more music based games down the track BUT I do think they need to 'space them out' in between other concept titles.

Congrats to Stern - I also think they will follow Metallica with a CRACKER as they have now ( in a good way ) built a rod for thier own back  ()

Great choice.  You won't be disappointed.  Everyone who's played mine has been very impressed.

Shaker motor is a must on the pro.

I also went the extra step of a pinball pro speaker kit (full) and LED kits and I am 100000% happy with it.

Only had a few games last night after unpacking it but looking at the snake, should the bottom jaw be level with the playfield or should sit up a bit.Bit worried it might do some damage.Love the art work.

It's official! All paid for. LEDs, sub woofer and shaker motor added to this one. Will have to get a shaker for AC/DC and Tron at some stage....when the finances are more healthy.

Yes, the big three. I love my music and I love my music themed pinball machines. Would love a KISS machine to round off the collection, but I keep swaying towards DMD games when it comes time to buy a new machine.

Looking forward to the arrival of Metallica next week!!!!

Cheers!
Adam.

I was originally hoping Stern would make KISS moreso than Metallica, even though I'm more of a Metallica music fan. When Metallica was unveiled, it completely blew away my expectations. I was originally imagining an all black cabinet with lots of silver Metallica logos and live shots of the band everywhere.

If Stern does KISS, I hope it's a few years away. haha
