Why not swap for three months?

The other party is after a permanent arrangement, otherwise I would.
I think I will just take the cash if he decides to buy and go shopping later.

I gave an honest opinion.
I spoke to the owner and also went there. We will agree to disagree.
Many people in QLD know exactly what the situation was. Hence the $3,000 saving compared to BNIB prices !

Believe what you want, you do anyway. It must be great living in dreamland.

He certainly spoke to me about you and it was funny as fook!

That is not what Gameworx were selling IM for, avatar yes , IM nope and yes it was a bargain at the time and was priced accordingly to get them out the door with no fuss, a quick sale if you will. No-one wanted either of these games back then.
You spoke to gameworx, you ummed and ahhed over avatar, surely they told you these things.
Besides that was then and this is now, IM is almost impossible to find, the popularity has increased and so has the price.
It is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it not what you think it was worth 18 months ago.
Thanks for your input.

I paid over $4500 for Avatar and was told it was NIB, never used, as stated on the purchase receipt. I'd be far from impressed if this wasn't the case.

Imnpossible to price an Iron Man in todays market as none have sold recently. Its very scarce and its very well regarded, and gaining momentum.

I'd pay an easy 6k to get me hands on one, but my 6k is as almost as scarce as a decent IM.

The circus is over mate, I'm done with that clown and the constant bs.
No need for popcorn, although it does go very well with beer.

Sold a IM 3 weeks ago in good condition but not perfect for 5.750 , I got one left and I knocked back 6k
I sold a IJ in pristine condition with over 2k in new parts for 6k , I couldn’t get anymore for it , the IM is the next sm or BDK  IMO

Cowcorner, I don't tell lies.
I don't tell people a machine is brand new in box when it is and was clearly 2nd hand. That makes one of us a blatant liar, and its not me.
Anyone can contact the owners of Gameworks. They will tell people the machines were not brand new or brand new in box at all.

Call me a clown, but I am no liar. Check yourself.

I haven’t seen a IM on eBay for a long time , most sellers sell it way before the auction ends
The reason for this is no one likes paying eBay’s exorbitant fees and the double dipping

I haven’t seen a IM on eBay for a long time

That is very true about IM. Very few around as you have said, however BDK and SM both seem to have a high water mark for value. Anything above $6k just isn't moving (or getting any offers).

I remember at one time a few months ago on ebay there were 3 BDK's listed all in the $6k range - none of them sold at that price point (one is still being listed currently) and it took several attempts and a gradual price drop to $5500 or make an offer on the HUO one before it sold (outside of ebay so assume another price drop of at least a few hundred).

Sub 6k SM's don't sell well either.

Does IM fall into the same pricing category? Hard to say but I think once you get into the above $6k category for Stern on second hand models without the blingy bling added, punters are going to start turning their attention to NIB Pro models instead.

The blingy bling factor really is the key. As you said, you got $6k for an IJ with the added parts. Punters are now more than ever looking for added value on their pin puchases - the market explosion for after market mods reinforces this.

That specialwhenlit guy seems to be able to shift older model Sterns, but by God he has to pour a ton of aftermarket add on dollars into them to get them to sell.

It's a tough market for second hand Sterns and it won't get any easier as even popular base level units (Tron, SM et al) are starting to show up in the Euro containers quite regularly.
