Hi guys
I have another few projects under way, one in which I need 2 dimensions from a Stern Cabinet if someone could help me please. Yes if I knew I was doing this I would of measured my IM before I sold it.
What is the thickness of the top panel of the backbox and what is the total depth?
On a Bally it is:
Thickness - 3/4inch or 19.05mm
Depth - 250mm
For a Stern:
Thickness -
Depth -
As for the project I won't release details just yet but if it works I am sure some of you may like it, I hope - insert praying icon........ or I will be !@)
All I can say it is not on the market at the moment && hence the secret stuff
-
Depth 206mm
Thickness 25mm

Here is a photo Jady you may need some more dimensions because of the lock bit

thanks daniel, but could I ask that you or someone else sketch on a bit of paper the profile and close to measurements, then take a photo and post it please.
- is it 25mm from the top to the bottom of the lock?
- or is it 25mm with that beading edge being about 19mm, with the beading edge sitting a few mm from the top
- then a raked back section.
-
Maybe this will save you the photo, as these are the dimensions I need.
A =
B =
C =
D =
E =
F =
Cheers
ps - I don't need the lock bit, except maybe the width from where the bevel changes to the lock and back to where it returns back to the full bevel.

Hey mate
A= 25mm
B= 20mm
C= 3mm ?
D= 5mm
E= 15mm ?
F= 15mm ?
The ? Means hard to get an exact measurement
On other thing the t moulding sticks up past the cabinet almost a mm
-
Here is what I got. I don't know if the differences are in the measuring or in the cabinet itself?
A= 21mm (with t-moulding removed) almost 21.5mm
B= 19mm (measured edge of removed t-moulding)
C= 3mm (widest point of removed t-moulding)
D= 4mm
E= 11-12mm (hard to measure accurately)
F= 14mm
You'd sort of think that B+D=A. I am 2mm short which I say is the t-moulding actually sticking up past the top of the cabinet.
I'd be happy to do it again in the morning with good light and fresh eyes if you want Jady.
-
Ill do the same Blair been a long day a fresh mind might make a difference.
My measurements were with the t moulding overlap which I couldn't measure with a tape measure
-
thanks guys, the t moulding isn't the main focus more those cabinet measurements for the profile, really appreciate the help guys.
with research the moulding is 3/4" wide, so a general thickness would be nice to know, with thickness and width I can work out the curve.
-
The T-moulding at it's deepest or thickest point is 3mm.
I measured again this morning.
A=21mm
B=19mm
C=3mm
D=4mm
E=12mm
F=14mm

awesome stuff Daniel and Blair ^^^

Looking forward to seeing this project come to life. It won't be for everyone but will be a pretty cool thing for those into this type of stuff.

I will get back on to this soon as minor software setback and had to fine tune the cabinet drawings which people can download and check out in 3D now - head to this link and then soon more will be released.
