Title: Tumbler Recommendations
Post by: greenechidna on October 30, 2012, 01:13:10 AM
I'm looking to buy a tumbler and wondering if anyone has recommendations or advice.

I saw this tonight:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Smartreloader-SR787-Case-Tumbler-VBSR00520-/221130060399?pt=AU_Hunting&hash=item337c60f26f

3.5l capacity for $85...it's for cleaning bullet cartridges so I know it'll handle most of the small bits & pieces in a pinball. Is this a reasonable price and appropriate size?

$85 is certainly cheap enough, i just wonder how long one would last being that cheap  !@# though it may well be fine for what you want/need and may indeed last as just as well as the more expensive ones..

I bought a Lyman turbo 1200 (sent you a PM with the link to the website i bought it from) i've had it for a couple of years now, and it has been getting continuous use for the last few months and had worked flawlessly ever since i've had it. I bought mine based on recommendations from other AP members  *%*

Probably a bit small. When i bought mine i made sure it was big enough to get a shooter rod in at least... all these things need polishing, may as well do them all

Price is good. It looks similar, but not exactly the same as the Berry Tumbler I have. Mine is a re-badged unit for the Australian market. You get media with it.

Lyman Tumbers are built to last. You pay more, but they are a quality unit. I buy all my media etc from shooter.com.au.

What's the consensus on the best type of media to use and best additive e.g. Flitz or similar????
