How to post pictures?
« on: April 08, 2010, 01:15:06 AM »
What's the best way to post pictures to this forum? Should I use the "insert image" option or the "attach" files.(or do they both do the same thing?)
Also do I need to resize images? I think I read that the forum software will automatically resize them?

the allowable file sizes are a little small. the mods must have done this for a reason.  !@# !@#

click on attach.click on browse. then select ya photo.etc . max file size is 1024. bit small but the other guys may have a better idea.

some people save to photobucket or youtube etc and include the link. it all works quite well the second way.  ^^^

You can attach the photo - When you are submitting a post, click the "+" next to "additional options" in the lower left hand side of the page. We restrict the size due to the available space on our server.

You can also link to an external site like photobucket. Use the "insert image" icon.

Nino - how do you do a narrated photo insert?  !@#

I can shove the photos in the post okay - but I don't understand how to control where they go? And specifically be able to write text before and after the pic? (Like in a restore thread)

I link my photos with the "insert image"button" near the "youtube" button. That way, I control where they go and in what order.

I guess this is actually what I was trying to ask.
To use the insert image option, do you have to have your pics hosted online somewhere?
Whereas as an attachment you can link directly from your computer?
Is this correct?

Restoration threads do look much better with the pics in the right place.

You store them either on your own webspace (check with your ISP), or on sites such as photobucket.
