Hi Tash, and welcome to the forum, and the world of pinball!  I was in a similar situation about a year ago, embarking on buying my first pin, and lots to learn!

I can say without any reservation that this is a really good forum with down-to-earth people with a passion for the old game.  Don't hesitate to ask any question, as of course there is alot to learn when starting out.  But .... you can and will learn a lot over time, especially by searching on this forum (and other links will come across).

The newer pins (1980s/1990s) tend to be higher priced compared to say the 1970s era.  A useful site is the internet pinball database (http://www.ipdb.org/) where you can search on most if not all of the games produced by the major pinball manufacturers.

Enjoy the journey!

$.$ Tash and  %)% to Aussie Pinball  ^^^

Don't be discouraged from pinball prices. You just need to be patient and you might see a cheap TSPP privately. Dealer & eBay prices are always inflated - so don't use it a "gospel" on pricing.

By all means, ask any questions on the forum and there will always be someone glad to help.

Welcome Tash, hope you enjoy the place.

If you manage to extend the budget, TSPP is up there with some of the best games around, especially if you are a fan of the show. Can't comment on the DE game as have no time on it, but parts are a little hard to source, whereas the Stern game pretty easy.

Welcome aboard, and best of luck finding that first pin!

If you are thinking you might only want to spend $1800 - $2000, there are plenty of very decent titles to be had in that price range from private sellers.
