Baywatch pin problem
« on: March 02, 2011, 01:37:02 PM »
Hi, I need some expert advice! After launching a ball into play, the up kicker solenoid that puts the ball into play fires another 4 or 5 times as if it is looking to fire out another ball. All 5 balls are in place and have checked the switches the balls sit on are working. What else should I be looking for ?. Hope this makes sense!.
  Cheers.

Not familiar with Sega, but if the trough switches are not optos, first thing to check is to ensure that while the switches might work in test, they are sensing a ball - finger pressure might be registering, but ball position might not be enough to trigger. Can sometimes be as simple as bending a switch arm.

My baywatch does the exact same thing pretty regularly.
Cleaning the optos will usually fix it up, otherwise you may need to reflow the solder on the connectors of the opto boards.
