Bally 8 ball problems!

I have just taken ownership of an 8 ball.Two problems. First  is with the displays, all the displays are strobing/flickering really fast and the second prob is a section of lights on the backbox have suddenly failed to work.Can someone PLEASE HELP diagnose. Cheers Les.

Interesting one Les. Check the connectors to the CPU board. Is there any corrosion around the bottom section of the board ?

Isolate the displays - Start with just one display connected and move it around each of the players.

GI - Check the connectors on the power board - any "hacks" ?

With Nino on this one, the strobing is most likley a bad connection on J1 on the CPU board. Maybe the pins are corroded (sand them lightly with sandpaper).  I have had this problem before and it was connector related.

The GI could be a connection on the backbox wiring  itself check if any of the wiring that loops from lamp to lamp (steel braid) has come away or is broken in any way.
