Funhouse - plastic strengthening 'tip'
« on: December 26, 2009, 07:30:55 PM »
Just showing a small thing I did for my Funhouse.

Owners will know that there is a small skinny blue plastic on the extreme right of the game next to the cabinet wall just above the shooter exit, mine was warped and also got caught on the cabinet side 'occassionally'when re-lowering the playfield

This is what it looked like...

Now I was just going to heat it and flatten it but I was concerned about it warping again and catching the cabinet side when lowering the playfield.....so for under $5.00 I was able to make this out of stainless....

It should now be obvious what I have done - here it is in place....

And here is the plastic re-inserted on top after I flattened it in the oven.....  this will obviously not allow the plastic to warp/sink in the middle again.

Nice work that man!

Mine was warped and I used the oven trick to fix.  Only a matter of time until it does it.

What an insignifigant piece of crap that plastic is i think your stainless steel looks more at home than the plastic...

Ahhh yes, Wotto. I remember the process of flattening plastics in the oven. I had to do it today on the sling for CFTBL. Funny thing is - I forgot all about it.. Was it 15 seconds or 15 minutes..

15 minutes seems a bit long to me :) The stainless piece is a great idea!
