Simple question - What color rubbers do you prefer on DMDs ?
Let's Define DMDs as any pinball post 1990...
-
I like the bouncier feel and the lower amount of grime build up with white, although black looks better on some games. I have gone white on everything except BBB.
-
I have and will continue to re rubber my pins with white, all except Freddy....
-
I prefer White.. I saw a Jurassic Park with white rubbers and one with black rubbers.. The white rubbers really make the machine more "bright" and faster.
Maybe it is just because I'm "old school" - I always though black rubbers were installed by operators that didn't like cleaning their machines... Leave them black and the dirt won't be seen >:(
-
I think it depends on the machine and also the colour of the flipper bats. I also believe in keeping the colours the same as they were when the machine was manufactured, but I know that there is varying levels of "bounce" and maintenance associated with the different coloured rubbers so it is the owner's preference for the style of gameplay that they prefer. I will stick with the original black flipper rubbers on my Judge Dredd machine, I think it suits the "dark" theme of the playfield.

That, and the black rubbers don't break or frey anywhere near as quickly.
Any machines that I do for operators are done in black. But for home machines, it depends on if they want what is original, or what looks the best.

i am for original rubber, perhaps the vote/poll could be white, black, OEM

Added OEM.. Vote peeps !

l think white but would have to agree with the fact that some games do look better black
Scared Stiff
Big Bang
but apart from the odd game l prefer white
-
Most games look better in white and are my preference.
Im also a big fan of yellow rubbers on red flipper bats
-
Anything bar black ! :P
To slow, less bounce and i believe it dirties the playfield and ramps twice as fast...
So it leaves me with one option... WHITE ;D

What, they still made pinballs after 1990?!? I am still stuck in the early 80's where white was the ONLY colour.
cheers

Doesn't it make a difference what colour the flipper bats are? I don't think white rubbers on yellow flipper bats would look very good.

I agree with most, white on everything with a few exceptions, a few games just look bad with white rubber
I re-rubbered my HS2 in black because it looks heaps better in black
And of course you need to add a few of Gregs coloured post sleeves to finish off ;)
Commission welcome thanks mate! ;) ;D
-
only use white as look cleaner and brighter. Most of the machine i have brought came with black rubber and the play field is normal dirty as.
Would love to no were all the black crap that under my play field comes from as all my inserts are black as
ps
sorry voted for black and should have been white

I've changed the poll so you can remove your vote and re-add it if you want to vote for white instead.

CI could definately do with some coloured sleeves, I'm sure Greg would be happy to sponsor a few for you for some advertising space on the sides of the CI cabinet *)* <.>
Anyhow here is a link to Gregs thread with my HS2 picshttp://www.aussiearcade.com.au/showthread.php?t=17353 (http://www.aussiearcade.com.au/showthread.php?t=17353)

I think Wotto was going to replace the white rubbers in the top LHS section of the playfield with Black rubbers. That makes sense ^^^

how much for 8X green ones? special price for nug !!!
-
Greg had a special a little while ago $10 for 10 plus $2 postage. Check it out when he gets back mate
-
I'm sure Greg has a HEAP of new parts to add as well !
-
i prefer the look of white black just dont do it for me
-
Personal preference is probably pin dependant for me. As i only have 1, ill go black for looks. My pin has definatly become "strange" after i fitted black ones though. Slingshots not as responsive and balls sticking in weird places.
