Gottlieb Title Fight
« on: October 19, 2011, 11:58:58 PM »
As a few of you are aware I like my boxing themed pinballs. My collection of boxing themed games before Title Fight include Champion Pub, Ali and Rocky.

Been looking for a Title Fight for quite some time. Have never seen one in the flesh. Thanks to Marco who advised me that Oscar was getting a Title Fight in one of his containers.

The game arrived today, so have not started the restoration on it yet but thought I would just post a couple of photos and explain a bit about the game. There were only 1,000 of these made. I purchased the game "as is" straight from the container. Very happy with it, probably the cleanest container pin I have had so far. Playfield is very nice with only a small wear spot which is easily fixed (hey Wotto).

Some cool features of the game

- Animated backbox. The boxer's arms are on coils which fire each of the boxer's arms that connect head shots for points. The heads go back when hit.
- Game sort of reminds me a little of Champion Pub, got to work through the contenders to win the title.
- Some very good and tight shots from the look of the playfield.
- Cool mini playfield with drop targets

Looks like an interesting game mate.
Only 1000 made – then that’s a great pick-up.
Keep us all updated with the restoration progress please.

The only thing I don’t like about it is the physical design with the speakers at the top of the backbox – I have never liked that look on cabinets.

Strange title - but then again, most of the GTBs around this era were unique. Congrats on the purchase !

Now that you have most of the SS Fight games, will you look at EMs ?

Thanks. Will be a while mate before i get to this. Need to finish my Diner and that is taking me ages. Not a big fan as well of the cabinet design.

No plans for any other boxing pins atm Nino. Only one I would consider down the track would be a woodrail (for the artwork).
