Mystic - Dim GI lights - not all
« on: October 15, 2011, 08:44:56 PM »
Hey all

Playing around with Mystic today and it has some lamp issues.

SOME , but not all of the GI lights are dim.
If I hold the bulb against in tight with my finger some get brighter.

Also SOME of the feature lamps dont work at all - no matter what.

If someone can get me started in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Cheers

Oh no, Wotto is back into restoration  $#$

You can try cleaning the sockets with 360 grit sandpaper rolled into a cylinder. Also scrape away the crud from the spring (within the socket) with a small flat head screwdriver. Do this with the machine OFF.

Feature lights will most likely be the driver transistors on the Lamp Driver board. Can you list the feature lights ? It is easy to look up the transistor type and replace them. You can check the connectors and pins on the Lamp Driver board. These are easy fixes - you just need to get back into the swing of things again !

The other thing to try is to remove the bulb, and then gently squeeze the globe holder with a pair of pliers. Not too much. Now it should be a "tight fit" for the globe..
