What's your favourite System 1?
I'll start off with Sinbad. I'm about to own one so I'm kind of biased. Never played one either but heard great things about it. Can't wait to get it.

I voted for Genie... I really like the layout of that pin. Especially the flipper / target area up the top of the left hand side - it's kinda like a mini playfield.

Went with Joker Poker, although Asteroid Annie is awfully close.

I've gotta say Roller Disco... mainly coz its the best of the three sys1s i own. The only others i'm familiar with are Countdown, Pinball pool, Hulk and Charlies angels. My home made pin project originated from a dead Charlies angels cabinet, and i missed out on owning a Hulk machine not too long ago, that my cousin owned.. he sold it for $350 i think!!! D'oh!!!

Yes - now I recall your name, Mitch.. That home made pin was an incredible game - If you find the time - I'd love to see it's development from scratch in a thread.

Having owned ( in the past ) Genie, Totem and a Hulk........I went with Joker Poker :D :o :D

At the risk of being a party pooper I always thought System 1's sucked big time! Slow, clunky, ordinary sounds, lack of innovation, poor reliability. On the plus side their displays looked cool and flippers were usually strong. Had a soft spot for Sinbad and Joker Poker back in the day. No desire to include one in my collection though...
cheers

I agreed until I had a ball restoring a Genie. The game was partially working before I started it, and I though it was slow and boring. I could make a coffee while waiting for the ball to travel the length of the field. After I finished it, I changed my mind about system1 machines. They were never (and will never be) as good as Bally, Williams and Sterns from the era.. If you like EMs, you will like System1s. Gottlieb were a bit too slow in converting their pins to Solid State.
Now I have a new appreciation for system1s.. I still think there are bad titles, but there's more good than bad.

I have to go with the Dragon only because I restored one a long time ago, actually it was the first pin I owned. I think Genie had a great layout. The best thing about this era was the artwork, bright colours and voluptuous women, to attract the young male players

Yes - the artwork on Genie is exceptional. Same with Roller disco.
The mini playfield on Genie was also a great feature. It was also employed on Timeline.
