Videos games and pinball players

Did any of you pinball Guys become good arcade video players. I was pretty good at pinnies and became a great space invader player but that's it. Gimme any other video game from then on and I'm toast. Add more than one joystick and a button and more than left/right movement and I'm as a good as my dog on a TZ pinball.

Interested to know if there's any out there that could make the successful transition to video and become an all rounder.

I'm useless at video games. In fact, I don't really like them that much. I think the reason that I don't like them is because they killed pinball in the early 80s (for a few years anyway).

There's a couple of video games I really liked - Pengo, Traverse USA and my favorite - Mr Do! I don't mind these "300 games in 1" boards, as you can play many games and relive the video golden age !

Defender   I was too scared to put a coin in that one. 3 second game for me.

Pinball requires 2 hands and some pelvic thrusting and that's it. A bit like another past time I was once good at

I like my Atari Star Wars
not very good at it, but I do enjoy playing it

Blood Bros, a cowboy shoot and roll game and Shinobi were two of my favourites. Earlier favourites were Galaga and Frogger.

I like my vintage arcade driving games, the sprint series rocked, just spin that steering wheel!

I finally found my grail arcade driver from 76 Sprint/Indy 2 it did take over 4 years to find a good example but

Yes, I go pretty well on Scramble, Galaxians, Space Invaders, Crazy Balloon ( level 86 as a kid, never repeated, I have had scores to match the top 6 at Twin Galaxies but havent recorded / submitted ) and Moon Cresta and River Patrol and still occasionally play them.

I have often said we were VERY lucky growing up that our local arcade was MASSIVE , with a big mix of video and pinball - hence we got good at most.

I use to play Galaga and Gauntlet all the time down at the local squash courts. My dad just got a 60 in 1 cocktail table, so I've been over there showing my son what I use to play. He now likes those games . 
I found a Gauntlet on ebay, but it is in SA I think  One day I might find one in NSW for sale.

Mainly played Joust and Galaga to wind down after a lengthy session on the pinnies at the arcades. I liked Joust at the time because it shared some sounds with Williams BK and CG.
Joust was no where as popular as Space Invaders or even Pac Man. A typical arcade running about 50 machines in early 80s had 25 pinnies, 15 Space Invaders and Pac Mans, 5 Joust and Galaga and maybe an odd Donkey Kong.

You have to record your mame game and upload the file of the recorded game.
I havent done that.

I can score the scores - and I SHOULD sit down one day and record the game - it's just not on my 'urgent to do' list - it takes bloody ages
However - if we ever meet and there is a Mame machine handy - prepare for a challenge on any of those titles my friend

I thoroughly enjoy my Star Trek Voyager Deluxe 2 person shooter game.

Its the only one in Australia, so that makes me number 1 in Australia playing it.lol   I play it for the fun and to complete all the missions, score isnt even a consideration and the game can be played for hours.

Its a great shooter game and a keeper forever in my house cause i am a huge trekky fan and am proud of the effort it took me to import it from the USA, half way around the world. The below link is from Wikepedia which is great, plus a youtube video below I did a while back. My only video game.

I actually played video games before i got into pinball 

Space Invaders, Galaga and 1942 were the ones i most often played.
There was a Galaga at the bowling (or RSL, cant remember) club in Nambucca Heads about 20 yrs ago years ago where i used to do band gigs.. i would disappear during our breaks and play that, and put all my 20c coins into it!!

Its on my 'to do' list to one day get myself a video game, i fixed one recently for a client and had a lot of fun testing it before it was picked up
