Title: GOTTLIEB OUTHOLE KICKER REBUILD (applies to most outhole kickers)

Outhole kickers are very basic to rebuild but if not done the ball can either not kick out or kick out to hard breaking plastics.    So start by removing the unit from the playfield by removing the screws holding it in place and removing the C clip holding the plunger in place. leaving you with the below piece.  The part with the coil attached really doesnt benefit from any of this work but looks better if you clean it all up as below

STEP 1.   lay the unit flat as shown in the first picture and remove the two C clips

STEP 2   Remove the spring one end is looped over the shaft the other end needs to be unhooked from the hole

STEP 3   Lift the mounting bracket off the larger shaft then remove the other piece of the shaft. which should leave you with this

STEP 4.   Clean all the parts up using metho on a rag or if you like to get carried away you can buff the parts or polish with novus 3

STEP 5.   Rebuilding is a reverse of the above  Lay the Kicker piece flat and slide the other large piece over the big shaft

STEP 6.   Then add the mounting bracket over the big shaft

STEP 7.   Push the C clip into the grove in the shaft to hold it all together

STEP 8.   Feed one end of the spring into the hole then push the other end over the short shaft. Making sure the springs loops are sitting flat on the steel as in the photo

STEP 9.   Push the second C clip into the groove on the short shaft to hold the spring in place

Jobs done reinstall the plunger to the Mech and screw it back to the playfield

This kicker is not for sale it will be used in an upcoming restore thread along with all these other parts

Go on, clean/replace the spring, lazy  #@#
