Original handle looks like this:

http://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=1416&picno=17604

Looks to be mutated from a Jurassic Park....

They were brother / sister machines so unless yours may be a hybrid or prototype of some description.

Yeah definitely a JP gun with a yellow smart missile button you can still buy. But the finish is interesting - is it painted over black? If so I think someone has used a JP part on the LAH - won't matter. If not might have a piece of pinball history.

The paint is definitely original no black coming through all the wiring everything looks original another interesting thing I found Ipdb.org says
This game was produced from Aug-9-1993 to Oct-29-1993. The machine I have is dated July 22 1993 stuffs me

What is the serial number?  To be honest the set up you have looks better and probably easier to use.  Might be a prototype game

Serial 92887 I noticed the three round targets on the right of the field were all white and didn't have pics on them they look like they are all original and never changed looking at the soldering on them

Hmm.  To be honest not sure how Data East labelled their sample games or prototype games.  Interesting.  Maybe compare the playfield inserts and text vs what is on IPDB. If yours is or can be shown to be a sample then submit some photos to ipdb.

I see you've already found the serial number database !

http://www.ipsnd.net/View.aspx?id=1416

What country was yours sent to originally?  Should be on the sticker inside the cabinet, left hand side of cabinet.

I have seen that silver gun handle before on another title but I can't remember what it was but I remember it being a proto game around the same time.

I would like to see some photos of all the games serial numbers and study the under Playfield and the front facing playfield edge for stickers and ink stamps. You can learn a lot that way.
Your game should have a playfield number/batch code on it.
This we'll tell you how early the playfield number is.

You have to study every inch of the machine and every inch under the playfield to unlock the secrets.
If u can post all the photos.

I have 3 x Last Action Hero machines I can compare all the numbers and stamps to if u like.
I enjoy all the Scherlock Holmes part of working out what these pinballs are.
The stamps n stickers hidden unlock the production secrets which is fun to find and work out.

Hi Will. Definitely doesn't have a cut-out above the gun that's been filled at some stage?
