I payed a visit to the Courthouse Hotel in Sydney on the weekend and thought I'd share some pics.

And a couple more...

How did the machines play and what was your fav?
-
For anyone who hasn't been there before, I highly recommend it. Some great games in the line up there including LE versions of X-Men and AC-DC as well as some classics DMD's in Monster Bash and Tails Of Arabian Nights. Not all games played perfectly but most did and there wasn't many people around so I pretty much had the run of the machines. Probably a different story at other times of the night though I guess. Pretty much all games are $2 for five balls except AC-DC which was $2 for three balls. Only suggestion I'd make is if they'd crack out the windex every now and then the games would look even better, also right hand flipper on MB and IJ did the job but weren't as they should be.
For me though I have to say that the X-Men was I highlight. I was keen to play it before hand but didn't really have much expectation. In the flesh it looks a lot less plastic than the photos i'd seen and it plays great. Heaps to do and shoot at and the Magneto 4 ball multi ball goes off in a big way when the balls drop from under Magneto onto the magnetic spinning disk and get worked up into a whip before getting fired of at you was awsome. X-Men also has a great sound track which I think is well used to build the intensity of the game.

Yeah also went there its gotta be the best site for some great games.

Yep, 3 actually. Transformers, ACDC and X-Men all LE not to mention the Monster Bash, Tails of Arabian Nights, Star Trek Next Gen, Fish Tails and Williams Indiana Jones! This place is well worth stopping by if your in the neighbourhood.

a tight packed room, nice to see some quality pins on offer
-
Been there before. Is a great pin room. Even better when it's just you in there to play all the machines

Yep, I was there for a couple of hours and only one other person came in for a game. Don't know what it's normally like but wasn't particularly busy in the pub either. Awesome room though, couldn't fit another pin in.

Was there this morning to do some work on the pokies. !*!
Appears too of had a couple or machine changes. (Sorry, forgot to turn off flash)
I asked the manger if they switch them off at night. Nope, there left on 24/7 !!! !!! !!!
I so want to own a Next Gen/ Voltarie one day. Maybe in my next life. #.#
ACDC is in desperate need of some Novus on the PF. I had to wince at the beer holders, appears to have been installed with wood screws through the cabinet. *!@
And to top it off, I didn’t have a single coin in my pocket to play anyone of them. !)#
Will be going back soon with a pocket full of $2 coins next time.

Some more pics.

Last four pics.

That BIBLE sure looks rough. The lower playfield looks like my fireplace after it has been going over night. Can't see a thing down there.
-
Nice to see a few new ones in the Line up, I'll be back up that way in a month so looking forward to a game or two. Never played a Circus Voltaire so I hope that one stays put for a bit longer.
-
That's pretty cool.
There's no venues like that here in Perth. :(
Not too many pins in the wild here at all.

It's not just the Courthouse hotel in Newtown that has pin (though it has the most), The Town hall always has a couple of pins, as does the Newtown hotel. I am doing a pinball tour of newtown this Saturday, if you know of any other pubs with Pinballs in Newtown, post a comment so when I make my trip I can ensure I get to every little bar that has one.
