Title: WTB Count-Down parts
Post by: Crashramp on June 29, 2016, 04:10:42 PM
Hi Guys,

I’ve got a small list of things I’m looking for, for my Count-down machine, if anyone is able to help me track them down that would be great.

-          Playfield plastics, in particular the 3 on the right hand side
-          The 2 wire guilds directly below the flippers on the playfield
-          A system 1 apron. No deep rust but a couple of dents doesn’t matter to much.

One last thing, can anyone tell me what type and size of leg is correct for this machine that would be great also. Thanks.

I have the 2 wire guards behind the flippers as well as a weathered apron, the plastics on this playfield are bent, brittle and cracked so throw aways. I am not restoring this and just grabbing a few pieces off it.

just let me know if you want any.

sorry about the photo quality as it is strapped to the ceiling of the garage next to a fluro.

Well that's another story Crash! best bet is to look on ebay etc for something close to you but they don't come up very often and if they do they are rusted old things but paint or powder coat ok. I use a cylinder full of vinegar to soak the legs in to remove the rust! As for Chroming well that is quite expensive, I have been quoted $40 a leg so it really adds up.
Ring around, talk to people keep an eye on ebay! I need a set for my Cleopatra as the ones on it are too long and it looks ridiculous next to the others. LOL

Cheers: Brettski... :)

Also if you find some old legs and just want to make them look good again on the cheap then this works a treat.
Clean them up by soaking in vinegar then sand them and prime with primer

and paint with this stuff..

You can even throw a coat of clear over the top once they have dried properly.

I have a tall glass vase I use to soak legs in with vinegar, soak over night then turn them over for another night occasionally hitting them with a wire brush. I turn them over as they only fit 3/4 the way into the vase but you could use pvc pipe capped at the end.

The legs on my Charlie's Angels are done with this, see the video...

Anyway if you have questions just ask and good luck in your search.

Cheers: Brettski... :)
