Getaway 2 - What is it valued at the moment
« on: October 05, 2011, 11:06:48 AM »
I have an opportunity to get a Getaway 2.

It's a import from Japan, 240v power, works, not shopped and waiting on details of playfield and ramp quality.

What is the current value of these machines so I don't get ripped off?
As is (as per above) - $
shopped out - $

All comes down to the quality of the playfield.  I'm sure you're already aware of the wear spots on them.

As is - I would think $1800 to $2200 max (assuming is complete).  Cab fade is always present on these, so if its original and without fade perhaps add a few $$.
Shopped out - depends as always by who, just be sure to check it over once its completed.  $2400 to $2700.

I would be cautious of ANY machine coming from Japan of recent months - due to the possibility of radioactive contamination.  I doubt very much this is checked at the docks.

Ramps are not an issue as they are all metal.

I think Marty is on the money, look out for water damage too if it is a recent import

It's from Osaka which I think is heaps away from where the radiation and floods were. Price offering to me is $1995, yet to inspect and play, but wanted a heads up prior to handing over any money.
I have never played one just heard good things about it but what are the bad wear spots to look out for?

Thanks for your help guys.

Insert wear is most common on most HS2's and rally bad cab fade.  Make sure the beacon motor and pcb are present and working.  The magnets in the supercharger often cause problems too, but not a hard fix.

I rate HS2, it is not deep, but when you just want a quick game, it is super fast with great flow, the supercharger is an amazing toy, the sounds are cool, ZZ Top, and has some great lighting effects.
