..........a first for AP?
This is a fair way off but I thought I'd post here regarding having a pinball meet in 2009.
Now I plan to have it in 2009, when I'm not sure but it will be later in the year rather than the first part of it.
Why post now? Well to put some pressure on myself to get more games fully rebuilt. By the time of the meet there will be at least 10 pins from the late 40s to the mid 60s fully rebuilt and working 100%. There will also be another 15 or so in different state of repairs :lol So far I have Gottlieb Picnic from 58, Flying Chariots from 64, Universe from 58, Mibs from 69, Corral from 61, Bowling Queen from 64 and Chicago Coin's TV Baseball from 66. Working on Gottlieb's Sunshine from 58 and next will be....well I'm not sure yet.
Now I live in the Northern subs of the Illawarra NSW which is approx. 30 mins South of the Sutherland Shire of Sydney. I'm happy to come and pick up from Sydney Airport for anybody that is interested in flying in from other areas (though I could only pick up 4 people).
Happy to organise accomodation for people, so will let you guys know at least 3 months in advance of the time set.
So....watch this space!

I live 35 mins South from Mike and he doesn't know it yet but he will be at the meet ^^^

I too would love to attend, although due to work commitments this will depend on the date.
Let us know when you have a date as I will try and attend if possible would love to see the golden oldies and meet people from this forum with similar intrests.

As mentioned even though it will be around 7-8 months away it has me pumped to get the games up and running 100%. Will have to limit the numbers and will be inviting some other guys

Great games in the line up. I remember playing a lot of Gottlieb push ups in the very early 70s in the big Pinball Palours on the Mornington Peninusula when I was a kid. So this would be an awesome trip down memory lane for me. You may get to see a grown man cry !!!
But they would be tears of joy #*#

.......and there are another 10 pins from the late 40s to the mid 60s that need to be fully rebuilt - they still look real cool not working.
Will also be inviting some guys from AA - got the thumbs up from Ryan today, so that was really cool...actually made my day as I have been looking forward to meeting him for some time now.
Meeting guys for the first time that you know through forums is really cool....was the case with Dan Robar (Fair Dinkum Dan on AA) at a meet a few weeks ago....what a guy! Felt like I had known him for years.

Tony Im happy to have a pre-tony meet at my place the day or night before your meet just for somewhere else for interstate guys to have a game at...as your only like 15-20 mins down the road it could work out well...dont want to take anything away from your meet so totally up to you but the offer is there..

I was thinking about this meet the other day.
Any prospective dates set yet, tony ?

No serious thought for awhile. My wife is in her final year of her Masters in Law and my Son is doing his HSC so my priorities are those 2 right now.
Also the Expo took the idea away as this would be a much better chance to get everybody together.
So - yes, it will happen, just a matter of all the planets lining up

2 Interstaters can crash at mine if ya want as well.
I live 20 mins from Tony.
It would be sleeping on an airbed / lounge etc - but hey its free.
Keep that in mind when it comes around closer

Peter, still plan to do this towards the back end of this year, somebody has to give Paul a break from the meets at his house. :lol
Will only have 10 to 12 games fully working but as you know at these meets some people play while the others stand around drink beer, eat pizza and talk *%*
My wife is in her final year of studying for her Masters of Law and my Son is doing his HSC so wont be until all that is over.
This meet will also introduce a 'new' Illawarra member here...a lurker....my Brother-in-Law Anthony #*#

I can make up some trophies and we can run a duel meet comp for fun.....if its late in ther year we could make it a big one...AP XMAS or New years meet...lol..
