Meet at illawarra_steelers - January 2010

..........a first for AP?

This is a fair way off but I thought I'd post here regarding having a pinball meet in 2009.

Now I plan to have it in 2009, when I'm not sure but it will be later in the year rather than the first part of it.

Why post now? Well to put some pressure on myself to get more games fully rebuilt. By the time of the meet there will be at least 10 pins from the late 40s to the mid 60s fully rebuilt and working 100%. There will also be another 15 or so in different state of repairs :lol So far I have Gottlieb Picnic from 58, Flying Chariots from 64, Universe from 58, Mibs from 69, Corral from 61, Bowling Queen from 64 and Chicago Coin's TV Baseball from 66. Working on Gottlieb's Sunshine from 58 and next will be....well I'm not sure yet.

Now I live in the Northern subs of the Illawarra NSW which is approx. 30 mins South of the Sutherland Shire of Sydney. I'm happy to come and pick up from Sydney Airport for anybody that is interested in flying in from other areas (though I could only pick up 4 people).

Happy to organise accomodation for people, so will let you guys know at least 3 months in advance of the time set.

Glad you gave us plenty of notice mate,

When you have a date - let me know, ill start checking out cheapy flights.

Now how to work out how the hell to get a GTB Universe on the plane.....


hang on a minute!!! I had my beedy little eyes on that SUNSHINE too!

That would be great. Was planning on heading to Sydney some time next year to catch up with Michael Shalhoub who sourced a couple of machines for me this year. As he has said to me, I owe him a few beers.

I live 35 mins South from Mike and he doesn't know it yet but he will be at the meet  ^^^

Tony,

I too would love to attend, although due to work commitments this will depend on the date.

Let us know when you have a date as I will try and attend if possible would love to see the golden oldies and meet people from this forum with similar intrests.

As mentioned even though it will be around 7-8 months away it has me pumped to get the games up and running 100%. Will have to limit the numbers and will be inviting some other guys

Tony,

Great games in the line up.  I remember playing a lot of Gottlieb push ups in the very early 70s in the big Pinball Palours on the Mornington Peninusula when I was a kid.  So this would be an awesome trip down memory lane for me.  You may get to see a grown man cry !!!
But they would be tears of joy #*#

Hope I can make it on the day, if others from Melbourne are going are you flying or driving up?
