Title: Under $50 Bargain - Gamesroom Keyboard
Post by: Caveoftreasures on August 16, 2009, 07:30:50 PM
I thought i would share a very easy to make and very inexpensive gamesroom keyboard for all of your keys.

I went to Mitre 10 and bought some Kevron brand keytag racks. They are $9.90 each and hold 8 x keytags.Keytags included.
They come with screws to hold them on to a wall or a board etc.Note-Double sided tape will not hold the weight of the keys.
I then bought a white board from the wood section.Comes in all shapes n sizes.Mine was $8.00 only. Its 1 metre high and apx 35 cms wide.
I went to Dick Smith and bought a Brother P-Touch 1010 professional labeller for $30.It comes with all the stuff u require.Just buy 6 x AAA batteries.

And I put it all together in less than 1 x hour. The slowest thing is now I gotta go around all the machines and take the keys out.Hope this post helps anyone wanting to make a inexpensive attractive gamesroom keyholder.

Neat.

Although how much would it cost to make all the coin doors keyed alike and keep the backglass keys on the hook inside the door.

getting everything keyed alike would cost alot more, i hate searching for keys..hence the board...thought it best to leave everything original.but each to their own.only cost me less than $50.....keyed alike prob a good idea too, but a bit more money.??

Good idea Brett,  #*#

I think if had a key board like that I would have to make it lockable, as my 3 kids just love getting into everything I own  ^&^ I'm still hunting around for a set (original) of keys for one of my arcade machines from the 70's!!  !!!

Hmmm, nice collection of keys there - and pinballs to go with them.

When you only have two you don't worry about such things...

LMAO............ You have invested $367 million dollars in your pins and yet to buy 20 keyed alike barrel locks ($100) is too expensive  ^&^ ^&^ ^&^

Key racks look awesome by the way

Answering pinfans question about having 2 x star trek 25th anniversarys, and having 2 x star trek next gens as well.  !@#

**Re star trek 25th x 2 -Ken Priest had 2 x  star trek 25th pins in absolute beautiful condition, they were purchased from germany 5 years ago by him and sat in his warehouse for 5 yrs, never sold.I havent seen 2 x treks in such good nick so i thought buy em both, cause that condition is real hard to come by...and i am a bad star trek fan.
**Re having 2 x star trek next gens, i paid $3500 for one and $4 grand for the other. The first one is 8 or 8.5 outta ten, the second is a 9.5 outta ten.
I plan on giving my brother one of each for his 40th birthday in May of next year, but he might sell em or let his kids wreck them so i am having second thoughts. &^&  My brother had a serious accident at work, had several operations and was never able to return, playing pins would keep him positive and less bored.Just gotta keep his kids from carving their initials in em.lol.  !*!

Answering  Daics3522 question re the keys, if i had to change 20 plus barrels on 20 pins, i would probably stuff it up.just thought it easier to make a key board.plus most of the barrells on all the pins are brand new, chucking them would be a waste, but i do see ya point.I thought the barrels were about $20 each, but someone said $5 ??  I wish i had invested that much money buying the pins, i would cash em in .lol. $#$

Apart from the obvious (so you can have another two different pins) I guess if you are hooked on a theme, why not?
