With thanks to many people involved in this project, We are pleased to release these Australian designed
and manufactured 50-60hz Conversion Board made
for late model US delivered Stern Pinball games.
-
Well done mate. Very competitively priced as well.
-
Awesome stuff. ^^^

Should Stern still bother producing these country specific machines or do you think they will try to come up with some other way of trying to stop machines being bought and sold internationally?
With the Aussie dollar still very strong, boards like the one Greg is selling is going to open up new options for us to source late model Sterns. Good stuff.

Pete you always have the option of buying AU delivered machines and then this board is not needed
these only come into play for the guys buying (US delivered machines) direct out of the US and importing them

I think your the only one that noticed that these new boards lowered the price by well over $100
compared to others selling the older style conversion boards.

The board appears to be an oscillator, injecting a 60Hz signal into the frequency detection cct.
It's a peripheral cct. meaning that as long as the software recieves a signal from the cct, it's happy.
It will be interesting to see how Stern is going to get around this, as any detection cct. can be circumnavigated eventually, even to the point of locating the signal on the MPU board.

By the look of the pic the addon pcb looks very tiny and also looks to be mounted on the back of the IO board.......very nice

I don't think Stern will bother with trying to get around it.
The distributors complained about the imports and Stern did something about it.
Not their fault if someone then gets around their fix.
