And that's the pinball tour of Surfers Paradise TimeZone which has multiple copies of
The Walking Dead Pro
Star Trek Pro
Ironman Vault Edition
Mustang Pro
And all the others incl all the latest LE models of everything STERN , all pictured for your enjoyment.

$20 gets you a few hours of unlimited pinball play on whatever tickles your fancy.

I played the LE TWDead today. It's fun.

But for the $$, the Pro is better value in my mind. Excellent bang for your buck at $7.000 -  7 grand.

The Mustang Pro and Star Trek Pro are also dam excellent machines.

Hope you interstate guys enjoyed the tour.

That's how I spent my Monday arvo, playing all these Sterns.
Life is hard but someone had to keep an eye on the machines so the schoolies didn't wreck them. Lol

I saw one teenager walk up to the machines and he asked me what they were.
I told him they were pinball machines. He still didn't know what I meant.

Anyway. That's Timezone full of pinnys and the Walking Dead pinnys were fun to play as usual.  ^^^

That row of matching red displays make the machines look naff.

Little wonder that teenagers show such a lack of interest in them.

It would be like trying to convince them to swap an iPhone 6 for a Nokia 3210.

Call the teen The Walking Dead!
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.

In reality you hardly look at the DMD when u are playing so to me the modern beautiful red DMD still looks great.

The colour DMD screens do look great if u are a spectator ofcourse, and also look nice, but you spend such a small time looking at them that it never seems to worry me that much.

What would the cost be to manufacture and program a full colour DMD be compared to a Std red only DMD ?
The price the companies are charging for them seems to be a money grab at $450 plus.

Does anyone know for sure if Stern are going to do a colour DMD ? And apart from cost ? Is there any reason why it hasn't happened ? Surely the full colour DMD must be a lot more money to manufacturer and program compared to std red one colour ?

Does it really make such a huge difference that you would pay extra $$ for one ?
I guess people want them as std these days ?
Wonder what the technical arguments for and against are ? Probably only cost ?

I don't see any value in Stern pro games nib at all, at $7100 they are over-priced and lose at least 1k as soon as it's out of the box.
At around 5k 2nd hand they are a fair buy but not nib.

I'd like to see more of these sites. Speaking to operators, it is VERY difficult at the moment to achieve a return on investment quickly enough to keep up with the new releases.

If Stern used the "JB Hi Fi" business model and made more games in a production run, and sold them cheaper - bit in higher volume - everyone is happy. $7000 for a pro is too steep. I think Stern are "money grabbing" here. Stimulate the pinball economy like they did with AC/DC Pro and get more games into more locations.

Color DMD would look awesome.
