Maybe look to the colors on your beer for inspiration?

Just spent all day replacing all the headers and connectors on every PCB think im getting old, need a cup a tea a bex and a good lie down or maybe a few beers and a couple of glasses of good red.
Thanks to Nino for pointing me in the right direction for what connectors and headers to use.
Finally finished powered the machine up and it still worked bloody amazing.
Dont want to make of any connectors for quite some time

No worries at all - Glad to have helped out. I guess you can appreciate how much effort goes into repinning a machine. Good thing it - you will never have to worry about "connector issues" on your game - and that's at least 50% of the problem with machines from this era.

You can keep the connector housings - just remove the pins.

Top work!  You will not regret re-pinning the connectors - while it is a pain in the arse the increase in reliability and performance makes it all worth it.

I am a stickler for "original" and would have used silver hammertone, but in saying that the black powdercoat looks great ^^^

cheers
Ian

Yes it will make a big difference it was quite interesting seeing how repairs had been made to the boards and connectors over the years .
