My New Baby (and my next restoration)
« on: May 09, 2010, 12:42:17 PM »

I picked up the game from Gene Cunningham yesterday. I told him I wanted one of his machines so he invited me down to pick one. Luckily he had four of these. I picked the best one ;-) The backglass is perfect. The cabinet is great. The playfield has some planking but it's not bad. Surprisingly, I gave the motors a quick spin, powered it up, and it played. Not perfect but I'm amazed it even worked. I don't believe the machine had been played in 20-30 years. I'll post more pics as I complete some work.

Fantastic game Chuck, I'm envious! I played one of these last year and loved it. Really love those zipper flippers!!

Freakin' awesome machine.  I'm very very envious mate.

And you say Gene had four of them.  That's just being greedy.

Love the Zipper Flippers.
Hows the machine play - I found my Bally 60's plays a lot faster than the 60s/70s Gottliebs and Williams machines.
Fireball highly rated, would love to have a game.

Classic Bally - Love this machine and I'd love to add it to my collection to sit aside my Wizard and Old Chicago. 70's Bally EMs are a favorite of mine and I'm hoping to score a Fireball and Nip It to my collection.

zipper flippers are an awesome feature that Bally used from the early 70's right up to the early 80's.

Congrats on the purchase, Chuck !

I rebuilt the zipper flipper assy last night. Very cool design. It really was a chore though, had to get off solid grease that must have been 20+ years old. The whole assembly now moves freely.I also forgot Bally used metal coil sleeves. Fun stuff.
