Title: ACDC Pinball
Post by: BruceC on December 22, 2011, 04:13:25 PM
Hello everyone, in response to the talk about ACDC being the next pinball from Stern, please feel free to contact me and express your interest (http://www.amdcoinop.com/Inquiries.htm (http://www.amdcoinop.com/Inquiries.htm)) but please be mindful that there has not been any official confirmation from Stern about it. I am happy to register your interest but I won’t be taking any deposit until I get an official confirmation from Stern and all relevant information for this product.

I'm not a fan of AC / DC, but this license would be the best licensed theme for 20 years. I would not buy the game, but the most important point I'd like to make would be that I know AC/DC fans that would buy this game - just to "have" the game - and they are not into pinball.

There was an AC/DC pro at  Knox city time zone about 6 months ago. What area are you from?

North East, around Heidelberg, I found an Ironman at Vic Gardens had maybe 5 games, not that interesting to be honest, just felt light and cheap almost, but compared to big things like my Indi I suppose that is inevitable, if I enjoyed the game more it would have been different I think... So interested to try ACDC, at least I like the theme.. lol..

There's an ACDC Pro in Reservoir - Edwards Place, on Edwardes (sic) Road. They've also got a T3 and a TDK.

Unfortunately, when I played them last week all three had problems - TDK crane isn't working, T3 was spitting occasioncally spitting all the balls out and ACDC has a trough problem that cropped up every other game :(

Good to see they did the job. You seemed pretty excited about getting them, would have been a bummer if they didn't look good. Pity you can't give us an action shot, but reckon it'd look pretty snazzy. I really liked the cannon mod you have too.

Thanks mate, see what you mean about brightness on the phone camera. Looks nearly like a welding flash. But can imagine it is a major improvement and finishes the game off.

I thought you were kidding about the number of games played. No wonder you were pretty good at it when I was around. If you want to know the rule set just ask Peter. On the upside I suppose you could lower yourself and play a nib Metallica or then there's the new tron. I really feel sorry for you mate  %.% please shows us what Sparky looks like after 4000 games. That should take all of next week  @@*

Very reliable, my BIBLE is all good. I am finding after 12 months of solid play that it feels better than new.
Everything has been run in and it plays much smoother. Apart from changing some lamps and rubbers everything is good.

There were some issues with the LE's that came out first due to the pressure of getting them out the door in time but all in all a great machine with little issues now.

My AC DC Pro is very reliable 100% no faults since new  ^^^

Just checked AMD's site and all NIB pricing has incresed ^.^

Stern NIB Pros $6,950 & Premiums now $8,950!!!!

Is this due to the US dollar dropping to 90 odd cents?? ^&^

i noticed in the vid that your ball doesn't fall out of the canon if you don't fire.  Is this how it is supposed to be, mine rolls out if I don't fire??

It shouldn't roll out the canon unless you fire I never had the glass and lock down bar on but maybe that's why yours touches the ball if it rolls under the canon?? There's even a call out from Steve saying "next time fire the ball"

Might be.  Might have to pose the question to AMD or Stern.  The ball always rolls out at the end of the sweep if I haven't fired the ball.  It is a PITA when the ball is loaded during multiball.

Depends what version software you have, in the latest software the ball will shoot out if the fire button hasn't been hit.

Well I've had this game for nearly two years now and it still plays like when I unboxed it and still my fav it's been a fun reliable game :-) I've lost count but it must have 3 thousand plays I for one can't knock stern :-)

Yes, Peter. This is an absolutely amazing game. It was a turning point in my pinball collection. My first Stern machine and first new in box game. So many fond memories. I haven't played and enjoyed a pinball machine as much as I have AC/DC. I think a lot also has to do with AC/DC's music in the game. Was never a huge fan, but knew the majority of the songs. I think it's time to have some more games on it this weekend.

Cheers!
Adam.

Lol got to encore today and lasted about 5 seconds, I do have my song count down to 4 instead of 6 which makes it a little easier  ^^^

Yes, they are good. All my 3 Sterns get good play and no major problem. The BIBLE in Newtown hotel must have been on 24/7 since new so they will probably last the distance in home use.

For those interested here's the acdc numbers posted on another forum-what AMD sold in Australia :)

580 AC/DC sales (all models)

130 Metallica sales (all models)

AC/DC was a nice little earner for Bruce :)
