I Need simple audio system.
« on: May 07, 2010, 02:13:16 AM »
Hi everybody.
I'm new here and I joined in to find some help and advices.
I'm making pinball machine as my craduation work. I'll make the mainsystem on LOGO (siemens logo soft comfort). I has system that sends pulse (12-24v or as desired) on main logic and it sents it on. Now I need simple system that generates soundeffect when it gets pulse. the problem is that i'm too abitious to put old school bell, that dings every time the bumpers are hit. http://www.epanorama.net/zen_schematics/Circuits/Music/sound_effects2.html circuit like this is one option but I dont settle with it yet. So how should I start project that contains programmable soundeffects?

To light things more I don't use much electric at school, but i study it on my free time. I don't know much about audio systems and I study Automation. That's why I make this pinball machine work on LOGO. I have about year to study and practice this system and build pinballs body. Help me?

Have a read on the bloke who developed his own Bill Paxton themed pin.
He used propeller chips which had some support for pulling sound files from an SD card.
He described his techniques and I think gave out the source code. Maybe this will help you?

Depending on how much sophistication you need in your sounds I suppose you could also just grab an old sound card from an existing pin and just use whatever sounds are on it. They are just driven by putting a word value on the input lines to select a sound.

Good luck wit the project.
