What virtual (pc based) pinball emulator to get??
« on: July 05, 2013, 12:39:33 AM »
Hi all,

I'm looking to try any of the virtual (pc based) pinball emulators out there.

Can anyone recommend what's *the* best one to get? and/or has the biggest range of pins available?

Thanx in advance,
MM

I used to play PinMAME on a PC many years ago. The site does not seem to have been updated for a couple of years.
VPForums  is a good source of info and downloads. I have in mind to build a full size virtual machine one day.

If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

General rules of thumb:

Visual Pinball has better physics, Future Pinball has more gloss.

Visual Pinball has VPM support, Future Pinball doesn't (but can simulate it pretty well in the right coder's hands).

Visual Pinball has a fixed camera view once rendered, Future Pinball has varying options for a free-moving camera (but a bit pointless in a virtual cab).
