HRP Creature Restoration...
« on: November 12, 2011, 12:31:29 AM »
Hey guys,

I recently completed a Creature from the Black Lagoon at work and thought a few of you may like to see some snaps/glamour shots.

While i didnt 'restore' as much of this game as i have done on previous builds, it was still a rewarding and challenging project.

Here we go with the base game...

Fast forward a little...

With the cabinet stripped the playfield is next...

Cabinet stripped for refinish...

Repairs made, grain eliminated and as i have done on previous builds, replace with fresh glides/chocks...

Cabinet primed for the first time. The client wanted all brad holes etc filled so the easiest way to find all problems is to get a shadow against a lighter colour...GREY

To be sanded out and primed again...

Painted...

All WPC hardware had been plated earlier in the build. Its back now...

Repro playfield supplied by the client. Had a few minor issues, but these were all taken care of...

Repairs complete and cleared again...

Speaker panel rebuilt...

Rebuilt sol assys etc...

Playfield t-nutted ready for rebuild...

Underside complete.I build the topside once the field is back in the cabinet...

Ready to rebuild...

The following photos are the final finish shots for the client. They are simply just taken from different angles but i included them here for reference etc. I left some of the clear plastics off for the photos so as to not cover some of the detail. These will be added later.

Angles angles angles...

Some playfield detail here...

Upper area...

Playfield extended...

Inside...Floor was masked and painted with the hologram in mind. Keeping the front dark etc...

Playfield wiring...

All warnings and 'inspected by' labels were changed to fluros to tie in with the Creature theme...

Inspected by the 'Gillman' himself...

Inside front...

And thats about it...

I would like to thank all of the guys on this great forum who support what i am trying to do. If it wasnt for Aussie Pinball i certainly wouldnt be building these games with the knowledge i have now.

Thanks for looking guys,

Tim

Anyone would think that you know what you are doing !   ^^^ ^^^ ^^^

Better than new !   Better than Treasure Cove in the USA !  And you take better photos !  ( I now know who shld be taking the photos for the 2012 Pinball Calender ! )

If u can add a good looking girl in a bikini next to that Pinball machine, I will vote you to be the next Prime Minister of Australia !  $#$ $#$ $#$ $#$

Well done Timbo.

p.s - that last photo is brilliant. Its like someone is hiding in the bush, have taken a sneak peak photo, and they are just waiting to jump out and throw it on the ute !  ^^^

the photo has a "african" wild animal feel to it.  its like u caught the pinball machine resting at the waterhole.  %.% %.%  ^^^ ^^^
