(well at least I think none of these were made)
Smokey and the Bandit
Cannonball Run
Happy Days
HR Pufnstuff
Lost in Space (the real one, not that stupid remake thing)
Idea for a new machine "Top Gear", drop targets with May, Clarkson and the hamsters heads, cars running around all over the joint etc
-
Three Stooges
Mad Max
Cheech and Chong
Happy Days = Eight Ball
Top Gear would be an awesome idea !
-
Smokey and the bandit and cannonball run are great idea as for Mad Max bloody brilliant idea
-
Tron
-
Yeah mad max would be brilliant..........the movie had world wide appeal, its a wonder one wasnt made
Still reckon HR Pufnstuff would be a good idea
"Living Island" theme..... cling and clang running around on the rescue racer, mega bonus points for shooting witchiepoo.
(none of this will mean much to anyone born after 1970 or so)
I can really imagine a proper Lost in Space machine from the tv series, the artwork on the older machines would of suited it perfectly.
Dukes of Hazzard? did they do one?
and what abot a Chuck Norris pinball? how cool would that be!
-
HR PUFFINGGREENSTUFF Your right i never have heard of that but then again ive never seen an old episode of Lost in space or the dukes of hazard %.%
And i only really kno of Smokey and the bandit because of that sweet trans am and cannonball run because of all the awsome cars

All good ideas, except maybe for HR Pufnstuff, that show used to make me want to puke.
How about Predator?
-
I think Beetlejuice would have been cool - particularly the art package...

YEAH... Predator.. how cool would that be?? *%* *%* I 've been thinkin for some time id like to build a game with that theme.. i've already dreamed up some cool ideas for one *%* *%*

That would be cool.
80's movies rock
-
Smokie & the Bandit - A great idea. That 6.6 litre 454 Black Trans Am with the gold Eagle on the bonnet - would have made a great pinball.
What about "Predator" pinball. Or even the spin off series "Predator Versus Aliens" Pinball.
Last, but not least, UFC pinball. With todays interest in mixed Martial Arts, UFC Pinball made by Stern might be a big winner ! ^^^
-
Cheech & Chong!
Now that's a great idea for a pinnie. Would have been good for a humorous adult themed game.
Three Stooges
Mad Max
Cheech and Chong
Happy Days = Eight Ball
Top Gear would be an awesome idea !
-
Just thought of a couple more.........."The Munsters", "Mork and Mindy"
-
Ghostbusters
-
Ghostbusters
I'll second that one. From memory the Atari and C64 video games based on it were huge.

I had the C64 version and it was an awesome game. Would have been a great pinball as well.

the C64 was to memory a good game as i was a teenager when it was made but it was a bit repetitive.
sorry to go off topic a bit, I had it on cassette tape, I think the C64 deserves its own thread.
+1 on MAD MAX + Cheech & Chong

You guys are forgetting something - 80's movies were great, but 80's pinballs were not.
Who has an 80’s pinnie and raves about it??
Williams/Bally should have made a theme, based on the Gelati Man…..pinnie named ICECREAM.
Aim of the game is to collect & eat all the ice creams served from the Gelati man.
First mode (single cone with Vanilla) leading up the the all mighty wizard mode “Cookies & Cream in a cup with nuts & chocolate syrup”, yummy.
Each shot made on the only ramp in the game depletes another bite from your serving.
What about the hurry up mode – before the sun melts it!!
3 pop bumpers serve you pushing in line – don’t we all hate queuing up!!
And finally the topper - party/fairy lights flashing with a massive ice cream cone in the middle.
Makes me want to play pinball now.

%.%lost in space(the original series) would have been great although late 1960,s -gottlieb games like domino, 4 seasons ,& bally games like capersville were the games of the era ,& compared to pinballs with speech ,multiball etc ,they were light years behind .....although the famous robot & the jupitor 2 ,would look great on the playfield! :tumble:
-
why not bring a old thread back to life instead of starting another - still reckon a "dukes of hazzard" should be made. The guys are still open to work by the looks with a new add on US tv, as they could do the voice work.

Whatever has been already mentioned in this thread already are all good.
I think anything by Irwin Allen should be considered. Some of his better known TV series include,
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964–68)
Lost in Space (1965–68)
The Time Tunnel (1966–67)
Land of the Giants (1968–70)
The Swiss Family Robinson (1975–76)
Code Red (1981–82)
-
Interesting to see that a couple of ideas on this thread have now been made. Tron but I guess technically it's the sequel, Predator and even a one off Ghost Busters was made out of an old Flash Gordon.
The number 1 pin I wish was made is the Mad Magazine pin. Almost happened but didn't quite get there.
-
would love to see a ghostbusters pin go into production ^^^, humour and heaps of cool sounds from the movie - could be sweet.

Some great themes in this thread.
I'd like to see a pin based on the saw series of movies.
-
LEGO - The Pinball.
No more pins catering exclusively to 45 year old men, designed by 60 year old men and featuring 70 year old geriatric rock stars please.
-
Picnic at hanging rock :lol :lol :lol :lol

If not I bet there will be

I searched IPDB for truck theme and it looks like there were some attempts in the past. Bally Night Rider had high numbers made in 1976 but I have never seen or heard about one until now. They must be scattered along Rout 66.
The other interesting one was the home pinball sold by Penny stores in 1980 for $499, wonder if any of those are still around? Here is my search link.

I had an EM Nightrider once. It was missing the backglass and advertised for a scan or pic of one... that's how I met Nino
-
What about a Wolf Creek machine?
I agree. If they made a Monster truck (jam) themed machine, it would be pretty popular. With so many trucks racing these days, there would be so many different machines being able to be made with the same theme. Gravedigger, Max d, El Toro Loco etc.

There are a few Night Rider games out there, albeit in poor shape, but the artwork is really good on this title. The other game is "Truck Stop" which is a super rare title.

Lady Chatterly's Lover.
-
Clockwork Orange ( my all time favourite film)
Barbarella
Motorhead
2001 a Space Odyssey..
To name but a few..
-
What about a Beatles pin?
Quite a library of songs to choose from. I guess the expensive copyrights sent that idea downhill.
-
tony abbott pinny, or kevin rudd, not sure which would be worse? :lol :lol :lol
-
has there ever been a left-handed pin, with ball launcher on left-side?
-
Star Trek Mirror Universe does have a left hand side shooter
-
has there ever been a left-handed pin, with ball launcher on left-side?
No, but Funhouse has one on the left (and right).
-
Guns n Roses - rose shooter on the left, gun handle shooter on the right.
