New and looking ...:D
« on: November 08, 2012, 11:06:17 PM »

Hey all... My name is Matt and I live in the Briz area.

I would like to study the form I guess so I invest in a great pin without getting raped in the process and getting a piece of crap.

I would pay the rate for a mint unit and I look after my stuff. I guess after reading the posts on here for a while it seems buying from a collector is the only way to go.
Thoughts anyone??
Anyway thanks for reading and I hope to make a habbit of getting into pinball.. afterall that all i used to play back in the Grundy days... Oh that and Rygar..lol

Cheers Guys...

G'day Matt, welcome to Aussie Pinball.

It's easy to buy from a dealer, but unfortunately the "restoration" standards are often below what an enthusiast puts into a game.

Take a look around and ask lots of questions, plenty of help here as well as some of (if not all of) the country's best pinball restorers.

But watch out for the PM's from non-active container importer guys.....dealings out on the forum are usually the way to go.

That's good advice.

Welcome aboard.

Best advice I can give is to always view machine in person and play for half an hour before purchasing.

Sometimes this is not possible, but at least get another forum member to view in person for you if you can't.

$.$ Matt and  %)% to Aussie Pinball.

My advice with the first pin is to take your time, ask as many questions as you like and see the game "in person" - or have someone you trust look on your behalf. After you have made 20 posts, you can view the trader section where members sell their games. This is almost ALWAYS the best place to find your first machine.

Remember to ask questions before you go out on your quest. Advise is free !

Welcome to the madness.
All great advice from the group as always.
I would say for you first pin look out for a system 11 they are great first machines and there are some great titles in there. You get plenty of bang for your buck and they are much cheaper than the DMD games.
Good luck in finding your first machine.
D.
