Title: Home Meets ????
Post by: Marty Machine on March 19, 2009, 01:27:00 AM
Hey All,

Just wondering if anyone out there (preferably with 3 or more pins) would ever be interested in holding "Home Meets" so everyone can get together and try out pins that normally might not be available thru the main outlets...

Some ideas:
- Having "several heads" help fix any problem(s) in your pin(s) on the day....
- Technical training - the basics from experienced tech-heads.
- Combining it into a casual BYO BBQ might be something different to try on a weekend.
- A partial swapmeet, bring ya junk along to trade/sell etc.
- Bring your pads, pens and junk along for a fun day - any proceed$ cover cost of BBQ gas or bread/sauce etc...

Ideas? thoughts? anyone? c'mon  !*!
MM.

Great idea, would be in this even if other commitments meant a couple of hours instead of half a day.

Unfortunately only have two pins right now (and one needs some fixing with targets, the other could do with some work on the ball trough) but I am happy to visit other people with more!

I had meet last weekend, was a great day! I maybe in mlb later this year, and it would be great to visit some pinheads whilst there.

Sounds like a great idea.

I would definatly be interested in meeting other members and playing others pins.

May be able to hold one at my place, preferrably after lunch say 2pm to 6pm for a few quick beers and pinball playing. chit chat etc.

I have 13 pins 10 currently fully operational.  Located in Koo Wee Rup 10 mins from Pakenham or 15 mins from Cranbourne.

Would limit the numbers most likley.  Would others travel to Koo Wee Rup if I come up with a date?

Yep, would be there - Koo Wee Rup isn't so bad now with Eastlink in place.

Great idea - Whats the point of owning a collection if they are not played ?

I'll open my doors after I've got some machines restored - no problems - great idea

I'm happy to attend other min meets in the meantime

It's a terrific idea. We can have a Geelong one if people are willing to travel - take in a couple of venue's over a day maybe given the distance if some of the other local members are interested? Finish with a BBQ and a game of BBB at my place...

Geelong is not too much of a problem - Saturday or Sunday afternoons will work best for me; hopefully I can make it to most of these.

Depending how much interest we get here, it might become a regular monthly schedule or whatever arises.....

So far, so good ;-)

It could be useful to have it on the same Saturday or Sunday each month eg 3rd, and starting roughly the same time.

Monthly would be great. There must be at least twelve guys with 3+ pins in the Melbourne region on this forum??

Yep, something like that, depending how busy it gets, it might end up being 1st & 3rd weekend (sat or sun) each month  :lol

I like your thinking! Now, who is putting their hand up for the first one??

And don't forget MarkC was hoping to host a 'major' meet later this year.

Mark's meet will be in June some time. That's if he does not sell all his stock by then !

I'm happy to host a "mini meet" once the Medusa and Fathom are restored.

I should be able to attend other meets in the meantime - time permitting !

Not really a push required its these Video games that i purchased for someone else who was never heard from again after i purchased the bulk lot.  Deposit required for anything from now on....**& %@# **& Plus some prick stole the Wifes car a week before the wedding and the hot water service blew up a week after the wedding so the shed rebuild fund is about as good as the us economy.   But sadly the pinball parts arn't shipped over for free yet??

Whack the video games on eBay - hopefully they don't owe you too much.
