Just giving everyone a heads up that Pinfest 2013 is locked in for this year for
Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd September
at
http://cavesbeachsidehotel.com.au/
which is in Caves Beach which is approx:
- 1hr 30min drive from Sydney Airport
or
- 1hr drive from Williamtown airport (Newcastle area)
access is via:
- car, bus or taxi (if local) - no rail access
I am sure a NPA (Newcastle Pinball Association) member can add details when they arise - maybe cruiserman ???.
- pin list
- sponsorship opportunities
- opening times and cost
- any comps being run
Keep the dates free if you want to come along, last year's event went well with approximately 60 pins and the the owner stated last year that the next Pinfest could use both venue halls so that allows approx 120 pins.
here is the link to the last event

just thought Homepin, this could be your goal - official launch of your dmd ^^^, sure you would get a few sales
-
Bummer that this event is scheduled around footy finals time again.
-
Bugger I'll be on the Gold Coast.

Nice thought but highly unlikely. There is a HUGE amount of work required to pull this project together.
I will probably aim for a demo though.... *%*
In any case I have plenty of other things to show - in particular the Hankin range of boards.

What would the chances be of looking into reproducing Atari boards if you ever get a chance to take a breath?
-
I would certainly look at them - the only problem I am starting to find is that, without a machine to do some testing in, things get rather difficult. I already have a few boards that are finished and waiting for a final test in an actual machine before I am prepared to do a run of them - I rely on others for this and that often throws a spanner in the works.
I am certainly MORE interested in doing boards that others ARE NOT doing rather than have 6 people all making the same things.

Good plan especially in Hankins hometown - Newcastle

Yeah looking forward to assisting the NPA in putting on this event again this year . At least we have a bit more time to prepare for it this year .
I think the NPA ( Newcastle Pinball Association ) is actually a member here on AP now ?? . There is also NPA and Pinfest Facebook profiles I believe , but not 100% sure what they are called as I don't go on Facebook .
Will update details as they come to light to assist people with accomodation / plans etc. . Look forward to seeing plenty of fellow pin-thusiasts over the weekend .
-
I'll be back there this year for sure ^^^
-
I'm hoping to be there this year with a restored game to advertise my Business, and for punters to enjoy. Last year was a resounding success, and I look forward to (hopefully) catching up with everyone !
-
Finally I got my act together and have spotted a thread like this well before the event happens and not 3 months after its finished. Unless I screw up, I'm in and will be entering this on my phone calendar with weekly reminders @@* . Hope lots from Melbourne turn up as I haven't seen anyone for donks. I wanna play pinball $#$
Unless its Grand Final day, then I have a bit to think about !@#

Yep, sounds great, only potential problem will be footy finals and how well Sydney are travelling.
-
AFL Grand final is week after this on 28 th, so will try and make it

excellent, do they usually offer accommodation deals for the event as I plan to make it for the duration.

yeah but you will have to get in quick as the accommodation goes fast as it is a nice spot.
In addition if you are coming from a fair distance and want to stay over night the closest places to stay in order of distance are:
Caves Beach
Swansea
Blacksmiths
Belmont South
Hope that helps
-
forgot one
Marks Point is between Blacksmiths and Belmont South
some great fishing spots as well in these spots if you want to really take advantage of the area.

Most definitely we'll be there ^^^ ^^^
I'm wanting to have a couple of pins there that have been restored by me (one each from Ian and myself) to help promote my own little business venture.
Ian i think will be taking his Genie that i am currently restoring for him, and i just have to decide from about four of my best resto efforts which one ^&^

Sorry but i do not have a list of NPA members who are on this site,i dont ask.The same ones who put on last years event i guess. They are free to chime in if they want.
Questions can be directed to me at this time.
This thread has jumped the gun,no aspects of the event are set in stone at this stage except the date. This is the reason i have not started a thread as we only want correct information supplied to the public.

We will be back again, hopefully with a couple of E/Ms.
Anyone who missed last years should make the effort....great venue, awesome lineup, nice people, amplified drunks
What's not to love?

Thanks for posting Chris
Not sure how this has "jumped the gun" though. You started a thread on the other forum a week ago with the information.
Glad you plan to keep the members here updated too though, sounds like a great event based on the success of last year.
-
I was a member last year ^^^
You started a thread on AA a week ago telling everyone on the date is definitely locked so start booking accomodation before in runs out. You also became a member here 12 days ago so had the opportunity to post it here as well. I am just spreading the joy and letting people know and I haven't shared any more info than what you have released other than suburb names which you can't control as this is my stomping ground so just helping others. You can't control what is entered in here, it is a forum and nothing but facts and enthusiasm has Been written which is a great thing.
In the end we are all in it for pinball, only facts have been shared and want this to be killer for NPA, Newcastle and Australia.
Good luck with the event Chris.

I am highly disappointed that this thread was announced in such a manner, and because of such, it has been tainted on AP for a second year. Swinks you cross the line again, and do much dis-service to the NPA (an organisation that you are not a member of), and AP! I will control my temper, and defer this matter to the NPA commitee. For the commmon good of pinball pls gentlemen!

Indeed it has. The same people that tainted the event suddenly turn up on AP to create the SAME issues. As Nick mentioned previously, the "announcement" was good for one forum, but conveniently "forgotten" on another.
What a joke !
