Guys,

I need to replace the laser in my Mark iv Sat Nav DVD in my car. Does anyone know how to do this?

It would surely be easier just to replace the entire unit...

You could probably find a replacement unit at a parts recycler.

Mind you, I'd be willing to bet that it's only a "vanilla" DVD player that you'd find in any old PC - crack the top off and see if it looks like a PC DVD player inside.

I have checked it out, the replacement Laser assembly costs a whole $29.90!! The unit second hand around $700! And if you can find NOS $1500+

I should give it a go just wanted to see if anyone had experience with this sort of thing!
