Title: Cabinet delamination
Post by: MartyJ on March 28, 2009, 11:56:37 AM
Hi guys,

I'm part way through repairing the cabinet for my Getaway.  This morning I noticed on one side towards the rear - (looking from the top) a slight crack just to the outside of the grove in the ply.  Its starting to delaminate.  Just with my fingernail I moved it to see how much ie if only a little bit, I would pull it off, key it and fill.  BUT it seem to be a bit more than that....

I've countersunk some small screws in the area and filled again...(sorry no pre-photos)....

Is there any other options or have I done the wrong thing?

Personally i would have glued, screwed then applied something flat and heavy to keep it all in place. That way the whole panel will be secured not just where the screws are but i'm no carpenter.  Your method may be fine also Keep up the good work
