Here are some pics of my SPACE MISSION coffee table i made for my best friend. All you die hards will notice it been built out of a gottlieb cabinet originally the coffee table was a Jack in the box. But i decided to keep that playfield to hang on the wall bellow the Jack in the box backbox. This mainly started as a dare when someone seen my charlies angels they said I BET YOU CANT MAKE ONE THAT WORKS. So the challenge was set and here is the results.

ok, where's the power cord?
looks nice.

Here are the pics of it all converted to Space Mission ill add a link to a video of it flashing and playing once i get the link.
The whole thing runs off a SLA battery which is charged via the hidden plug in the coin return slot. It will run for 3 days straigh with out a charge. I could have installed a larger battery for longer but wasnt really needed.
To make the playfield fall i moved the original brackets so that it had a slope while the glass stayed flat. The plunger was simply turned upside down which made it low enough to hit the ball in the new playfield position. I also modified the apron so that the front of it sat closer to the glass so it wouldnt look to strange
Ive also added a mock up with the original artwork on the side which i was going to do but my mate said he would rather it white so who was i to say no. (Saved me tons of work yipee)

No power cord mate all runs off batteries. This project was only really built because a friend liked my Charlies angels one and said i bet you cant make one work. The cord was my big issue no one wants a cord running to there coffee table so i came up with the battery idea

Whenever I read your posts makes me wanna say a line out of the first Batman movie. The line when Jack Nicholson as the joker says, upon seeing some of Batmans tools - "Where does he get those wonderfull toys" #*#
Well Done looks great

Hey Daniel
Another excellent project! I'm intrigued with the fact that it's playable. What is an SLA battery apart from being rechargeable? I'm a bit of a mushroom at times. One of us will end up with caffeine poisoning with these things, but I must say IMHO you are the Table King @@*

An SLA battery is a sealed lead acid battery - similar concept to a car battery except that instead of acid in a liquid form like in your car battery they contain acid in a gel form. Typically used in UPS (uninterruptible power supplies) applications and electric wheelchairs, and so on. No maintenance, slow charge, best kept trickle charged if possible.

Well Daniel,
You have inspired me to make one of these....on the hunt for a pinball body now.
Ah, another project - just what is needed #@#

Very cool ddstoys. I'm jealous
It would be cool if it was possible to display a score.
